Another Success Story...

Ok, I know that I texted just about all of you, but I thought I'd post it on here anyway...I PASSED!!! I did much better than I thought! I didn't get a perfect score like our golden scaler recipient, but I passed! What relief I feel. Now I can enjoy getting married! Hope to see some of you on the 23rd!

Question:

Weren't we supposed to go through a "pinning ceremony?" I vaguely remember a discussion from our first year about the "pinning ceremony" at the end of our program. I thought we were supposed to raise our right hand and say the dental hygiene oath. I thought we were all supposed to get a pin or something.

Does anyone else remember this? Am I going crazy?

Talk about a biohazard

Brent and I made it to Austin safely. So far all I have been doing is trying to make our apartment livable.

Brent was vacuuming last night and came upon something hard and heavy. Too heavy to get sucked into the vacuum. He looked more closely, and it was a TOOTH!

No, not some wimpy, reabsorbed deciduous tooth. It was a fully-formed adult molar! By the look of the anatomy, I'd say it was a mandibular first molar. Good thing he didn't touch it.

I accidentally kept a box of gloves from when I took my clinical boards. This box has been my saving grace.

Board Results

I've heard from a few people. I know Jennie, Kristin, & Kim Swain have passed. I just got my results today. Surprisingly, I got a 93%. I wish we knew what we got docked for. Anyway, I just hope everyone has recieved good news. If anyone has gotten bad news, they can retake boards in Texas and come stay with me.

Good luck to the girls who are doing theirs this weekend! I'll keep a prayer in my heart for you!

Graduation!!!

I know we're all so excited and happy to be done! (well for the majority of you that actually ARE completely done!) :) WE SURVIVED! Not only did we survive the program but also the extremely long commencement with profanity. I know we're all excited to get our results and burn any remnants we have of our class notes. Anyway, here a few cute pictures of all of us at graduation. I will miss you all so much! I'm already going through withdrawls! Love you guys tons!

Drowning. Falling. Into a bog of eternal failure.

Mud so thick it paralyzes my limbs with it's heavy torture.

How can I breathe with this stress all around me?

How can I sleep with this pressure weighing down?
How can I think with this swirl of pending disappointment swimming in my skull?
Too much to know.
Too much to do.
Too much trivial nonsense being shoved down my throat and pushed into my brain.
My body is bursting at every pore with facts I will no longer need to know
after this traumatic doom has passed.
Each day it grows closer.
Not enough hours to absorb it all.
Not enough strength to cram it all in.

Not enough room in the facia and spaces to fit the curriculum.
